Who can benefit from orthodontic treatment?

Orthodontic treatment is suitable for individuals of all ages, including children, teenagers, and adults, who have crooked teeth, overcrowding, gaps between teeth, overbites, underbites, crossbites, or other malocclusions (bite misalignments).

Is it possible to get braces at the age 40s or 50s?

It is possible provided your bone is of good quality for which occasionally your dentist may ask for a special X ray and based on the report of this  X ray the decision to go for braces treatment will be made by your dentist in consultation with the orthodontist.  

How long does orthodontic treatment take?

The duration of orthodontic treatment varies depending on the complexity of the case, the severity of the misalignment, and the type of orthodontic appliance used. Treatment typically lasts anywhere from several months to a few years.

Does orthodontic treatment hurt?

Orthodontic treatment may cause some discomfort or soreness, especially during the initial adjustment period after braces are placed or tightened. Over-the-counter pain relievers and orthodontic wax can help alleviate discomfort. As treatment progresses, discomfort usually decreases.

How often do I need to see my orthodontist during treatment?

Your orthodontist will schedule regular appointments every few weeks to monitor your progress, make adjustments to your braces or aligners, and ensure that treatment is progressing as planned.

Are there any dietary restrictions during orthodontic treatment?

Patients undergoing orthodontic treatment are advised to avoid hard, sticky, or chewy foods that could damage braces or cause them to become dislodged. Eating a healthy diet and avoiding sugary snacks can help maintain good oral hygiene and prevent cavities.

How do I care for my braces or aligners?

Proper oral hygiene is essential during orthodontic treatment to prevent plaque buildup, tooth decay, and gum disease. Patients should brush their teeth and braces thoroughly after every meal and floss daily. Aligner trays should be removed for eating and drinking (except water) and cleaned regularly.

Will I need to wear a retainer after orthodontic treatment?

Yes, wearing a retainer after orthodontic treatment is essential to prevent teeth from shifting back to their original positions. Your orthodontist will provide specific instructions on how long to wear your retainer and how to care for it properly.

Is orthodontic treatment covered by dental insurance?

Orthodontic treatment in India may not be covered by dental insurance, However it's essential to check with your insurance provider to understand your coverage for braces treatment.
